CSI 11 51 13 automated library book storage

vertical carousels & vertical lifts
There are two types of 11 51 13 automated book storage and retrieval systems available: vertical carousels and vertical lift modules. Both of these solutions convert unused overhead air space into productive vertical floor storage space, allowing you to decrease your storage footprint and take back your space. The automated book storage and retrieval systems also feature enhanced safety for staff and library users, as it eliminates physical effort such as twisting, bending, and lifting motions that can cause injury.
The automated storage systems are ADA compliant and provide easy operation regardless of a user’s body size, posture, or mobility. They also drastically reduce the amount of time spent searching for books or archives, since they eliminate the need for staff or users to wander through aisles of shelving, or provide space-saving solutions for offsite or archival library storage. The lifts and carousels can also be integrated with inventory technology to make tracking of books even easier.

Vertical lift modules (VLMs) are enclosed systems of vertically arranged trays stored on both the front and back sides of the unit with an extractor device placed in the center. The extractor automatically extracts and delivers storage trays to an ergonomic access window with the push of a button. The trays are automatically stored in one inch (25 mm) increments using the least amount of space possible, maximizing the storage density within the unit.
