Grow Containers | SSG Horticulture

Grow Containers for Commercial Cultivation

Drop a finished grow room onto the site instead of building one. SSG Horticulture grow containers are factory-built 40-foot steel cultivation rooms with epoxied floors, insulated finished walls, and integrated HVAC, dehumidification, airflow, filtration, electrical distribution, plumbing, and lighting support. They arrive ready to place and power, in Standard, Veg/Prop, and Flower configurations, and SSG coordinates layout, utilities, delivery, and installation around the way each operation runs.

Turnkey Arrives Built

A factory-built 40' container ships with finished interior, climate, electrical, plumbing, and lighting already installed and tested.

Climate Hold Tight Targets

An insulated steel envelope with integrated HVAC and dehumidification holds temperature, humidity, and airflow at every growth stage.

Speed Place and Power

Production runs about 8 weeks; on site the unit is set, connected to utilities, and growing far faster than new construction.

Scale Add or Relocate Units

Containers can be added, paired with Standard, Veg/Prop, and Flower units, or relocated as the operation grows or moves.

Container configurations

Choose the container around growth stage, climate load, and how the operation will scale.

Every SSG Horticulture grow container shares the same finished 40' steel shell, filtration, power, lighting, and safety foundation. The configurations differ in their climate package and plumbing: a Standard base buildout, a Veg/Prop unit tuned for early-stage rooms, and a Flower unit with a heavier climate package for flowering loads, plus multi-container builds for scale.

Base buildout

40' Standard Grow Container

The Standard container is the base 40' buildout for indoor horticulture, pilot cultivation rooms, crop testing, and facility expansion. It pairs the finished shell, climate package, filtration, power, lighting, and safety foundation with simplified single fill and drain plumbing, ready to run as a contained cultivation room.

Climate packageOne 36K BTU outdoor unit, two 18K indoor cassettes, and one 210 pint/day dehumidifier.
Use whenA grow needs a turnkey, contained room for pilot production, crop testing, or fast facility expansion.
Best applicationGeneral cultivation, pilot rooms, leafy greens, and single-room or multi-unit deployments.
PlumbingOne 1" fill and one 1" drain PVC connection for simpler irrigation needs.
Watch forRacking, benches, dry racks, site prep, and utility hookups are quoted separately around the crop plan.

Early-stage growth

40' Veg/Propagation Grow Container

The Veg/Prop container is configured for vegetative growth, cloning, propagation, and nursery workflows. It keeps the same finished shell and climate foundation as the Standard unit but adds a second set of fill and drain plumbing connections to support the higher irrigation activity of early-stage rooms.

Climate packageOne 36K BTU outdoor unit, two 18K indoor cassettes, and one 210 pint/day dehumidifier.
Use whenThe operation needs dedicated space for vegetative growth, cloning, propagation, or nursery starts.
Best applicationClone and mother rooms, propagation, nursery production, and early-stage plant development.

Flowering loads

40' Flower Grow Container

The Flower container is configured for flowering applications and specialty crop facilities. It steps the climate package up to two outdoor HVAC units, two indoor cassettes, and two dehumidifiers, giving flowering rooms the tighter temperature and humidity management that heavier canopy and transpiration loads demand.

Climate packageTwo 36K BTU outdoor units, two 36K indoor cassettes, and two 210 pint/day dehumidifiers.
Use whenThe room runs dedicated flowering and needs stronger cooling and moisture removal for mature canopy.
Best applicationCannabis flowering, specialty crop finishing, and high-output single-room production.
PlumbingTwo 1" fill and two 1" drain PVC connections for flowering irrigation and runoff.
Watch forFlowering climate loads are highest, so power, utility hookups, and crane placement should be planned with SSG.

Scale & relocate

Multi-Container & Turnkey Deployments

Because each unit is a self-contained room, the footprint is not permanent. Operators can start with one container, combine Standard, Veg/Prop, and Flower units into a full grow-to-harvest workflow, and add or relocate containers as the license footprint or the production plan changes. SSG coordinates site prep, placement, and utility integration.

How it worksRepeatable 40' units are placed, connected to utilities, and combined into a staged grow, propagation, and flower workflow.
Use whenThe operation expects to scale in phases, pilot a crop, or keep the option to relocate the build.
Best applicationPhased expansions, remote or constrained sites, pilot and R&D programs, and rapid capacity additions.

Sizes and construction details

A grow container should be matched to the crop stage, the climate load, and the site it lands on.

SSG does more than ship a box. We help match the configuration to the growth stage, confirm the climate and power loads, and coordinate site prep, crane placement, utility hookups, and delivery so the container is producing soon after it is set.

Factory-built 40' steel construction

Each unit is a factory-built 40-foot steel container with epoxied floors, studded and finished insulated walls, a man door, overhead lighting, and an exit sign with battery backup, assembled and tested before it ships on roughly an 8-week production lead time.

Three climate-matched configurations

Standard, Veg/Prop, and Flower units share the same shell and step the HVAC, dehumidification, and plumbing up to the growth stage. Racking, benches, dry racks, site prep, utility hookups, permits, and freight are quoted separately.

Inside the container

Everything that makes it a grow room is already built in.

A grow container is not an empty box. The climate, airflow, filtration, power, plumbing, and lighting are installed and tested at the factory inside a finished, insulated steel shell, so the unit arrives as a working cultivation room rather than a project to finish on site.

Integrated container systems

A grow container performs best when the build, the site, and the crop plan line up.

Most of these systems ship inside the unit, but they still have to meet the site. SSG helps confirm HVAC, dehumidification, airflow, lighting, CO2, power, irrigation, and drainage against the crop plan and the utilities so the container holds its targets the day it is connected.

What is a grow container?+

A grow container is a factory-built 40-foot steel container outfitted as a complete, contained cultivation room. It ships with epoxied floors, finished insulated walls, climate control, airflow, filtration, electrical distribution, plumbing connections, and lighting support, so it works as a controlled-environment grow room once it is set and connected to utilities.

What is the difference between the Standard, Veg/Prop, and Flower containers?+

All three share the same finished 40' shell, filtration, power, lighting, and safety foundation. The Standard unit is the base buildout with single fill and drain plumbing. The Veg/Prop unit keeps the same climate package but adds a second set of fill and drain lines for propagation. The Flower unit steps up to two outdoor HVAC units, two indoor cassettes, and two dehumidifiers for flowering loads.

Which configuration should I choose?+

Choose the Veg/Prop container for vegetative growth, cloning, propagation, and nursery starts; the Flower container for dedicated flowering and specialty crop finishing; and the Standard container for general cultivation, pilot rooms, crop testing, or fast expansion. SSG can help match the unit, or combine units, to the crop plan.

What is included in the container?+

Each unit includes epoxied floors, studded and finished insulated walls, a man door, the HVAC and dehumidification package, two 12" louvered fans with CO2 override, two HEPA filters, GFCI outlets and breaker panels, 277VAC lighting junction boxes, PVC fill and drain plumbing, overhead lighting, and an exit sign with battery backup.

What is not included?+

Racking, benches, dry racks, site prep, crane placement, utility hookups, permits, exterior signage, and freight are handled separately during the quote process so they can be scoped to the crop plan and the site.

How are temperature and humidity controlled?+

Built-in HVAC controls temperature while the dehumidifiers manage moisture, and the insulated steel envelope makes those setpoints much easier to hold. The Flower configuration carries double the HVAC and dehumidification capacity because flowering canopy adds the heaviest heat and moisture load.

How long does it take to get a grow container?+

Production runs about 8 weeks after the order is placed, and shipping time varies by location. Once the unit is delivered to a prepared site, it is set, connected to utilities, and ready to grow far faster than new construction.

How does pricing and the quote work?+

The listed price covers the container itself; installation, setup, and freight are quoted separately. Useful inputs for a quote include the configuration, crop plan, site conditions, utility availability, and any racking or benching needs. You can request a quote online or by phone.
