Temporary Holding Cell Features
The temporary holding cells are constructed of sturdy wire partition panels with a modular design. The cell may consist of four walls with a ceiling or two or three walls in conjunction with existing building walls. Wire panels come in 20 standard sizes and stack to reach wall height, and they work in both ceilings and walls.
Features and specifications for the temporary holding cells include:
- Panels are available in standard sizes 4’ or 5’ high and in 1-foot increments from 1’ to 10’ wide, with custom sizes available
- Hinged, double hinged, sliding, or vertical rise door options
- Lock options include standard mortise cylinder lock, high-security deadlatch lock, and slide bolts, along with custom options
- Standard 3/8” mounting hardware
- Assembly hardware inaccessible from the inside of the holding cell
- Panels are available in welded mesh, expanded metal, sheet metal, or clear polycarbonate
- Available with anchorable 11-gauge steel bench with optional handcuff rail

Thanks to a unique design, all the hardware is outside the holding cell, inaccessible to prisoners who might try to escape. The 3/8” mounting hardware is the heaviest in the industry. The sturdy wire mesh panels provide visibility into the cell on all sides, facilitating the constant supervision of detained prisoners. For facilities that require enhanced security, heavy-duty options are available.
The standard holding cell has a hinged door with a mortise cylinder lock—a self-locking mechanism with a spring action tongue. Other locking options include an institutional high-security deadlatch lock, and an additional top and bottom patented tamper-resistant latch mechanism. Customer-specified locks can also integrate into the system.
Ease of Installation
In addition to their extensive security features, the versatile temporary holding cells are designed for convenient installation. The systems are modular, with stock panels in 20 standard sizes and custom options. You may choose to assemble a full four-sided enclosure with a ceiling or install a two- or three-sided cage against existing building walls.
The temporary holding cells install quickly with standard hand tools. The angle frame design provides clear access to hardware for installers. The system also integrates with existing systems to allow free circulation of existing lighting, HVAC, and fire suppression systems.
