Fort Polk Military Police Adds High-Density Mobile Shelving
Fort Polk Military Police needed a better way to organize and store paper police records. Southwest Solutions Group installed high-density mobile shelving that increased records storage while preserving space for desks and staff access.
Download Case StudyThe project supported paper records management for a military police operation.
The project was completed in the central Louisiana region.
The room was planned for staff responsible for storing and managing past police records.
High-density mobile shelving created compact records storage while leaving room for staff work areas.
Mobile shelving and 4-post shelving created compact, accessible storage for paper police records.
The goal was to create a more organized records room that could support paper file storage and future retrieval.
Paper Records Needed a Better Storage Plan
Fort Polk Military Police needed a more organized way to store past paper records. An empty room was available, but the space also needed room for desks, staff movement, and easy access to the records shelving.
Paper Records Needed Better Organization
Past police records needed a dedicated storage area with a clearer system for organizing paper files. The new room had to support records storage without becoming difficult for staff to use.
The Room Needed to Support More Than Storage
The room needed to hold a large amount of records while still leaving space for desks and staff work areas. The storage layout needed to maximize capacity without using too much of the available floor space.
Staff Needed Clear Access to Files
The records team needed a layout that would keep files accessible once they were moved into the room. The system also needed to preserve enough open space for staff to work around the shelving.
More Records Storage in Less Space
Southwest Solutions Group installed high-density mobile shelving with 4-post shelving inside the available room. The compact layout created dedicated space for paper records while preserving floor space for desks and staff access. The system also fit the room size and project budget.
High-Density Mobile Shelving with 4-Post Shelving
The installed system combined high-density mobile shelving with 4-post shelving to turn the empty room into a dedicated paper records storage area.
More Storage Without Taking Over the Room
The compact shelving layout fit the available room while leaving enough space for desks and staff movement. It also stayed within the project budget.
A Better Use of the Records Room
The completed layout gave staff a dedicated place for paper files while preserving room to work around and access the mobile shelving.
Designed to Fit the Existing Records Room
Southwest Solutions Group completed a site survey in January 2026 to review the available room, paper records storage needs, and required work space. The team planned the high-density mobile shelving layout, coordinated project details, and prepared the system for delivery. Installation was completed from July 1 through July 8, 2026.
Reviewing the Records Room
SSG reviewed the available room, paper records storage needs, and the amount of space that had to remain open for staff work areas.
Planning the Mobile Shelving Layout
The high-density mobile shelving layout was planned around the room dimensions so the system could add records capacity while leaving space for desks and staff movement.
Finalizing the Storage Plan
SSG finalized the mobile shelving layout and project details before moving the approved system into the delivery and installation phase.
Preparing the System for Installation
The mobile shelving and 4-post shelving were prepared and delivered for installation in the records room.
Installing the High-Density Mobile Shelving
SSG installed the high-density mobile shelving from July 1 through July 8, 2026. The finished system prepared the room for paper records to be moved into the new storage area.
Reviewing the Completed Installation
Southwest Solutions Group completed a post-install review on August 20 to check the finished system and discuss any remaining project needs. The customer noted the timeliness and professionalism of the installation team.
A More Functional Records Storage Room
At the August 20 post-install review, the records had not yet been moved into the room. The completed high-density mobile shelving gave Fort Polk Military Police a compact records storage setup with room for paper files, staff access, and future retrieval.
High-Density Mobile Shelving Installed
The empty room was converted into a dedicated records storage area with high-density mobile shelving and 4-post shelving.
Space Preserved for Staff and Desks
The compact system left space for desks and staff movement around the shelving, allowing the room to support both records storage and daily work.
Dedicated Storage for Paper Records
The new shelving gave past police records a dedicated storage area designed to support clearer organization once the files are moved in.
Ready for Future File Access
The completed system gives the records team a more organized foundation for storing and retrieving past police files once the records are moved into the room.
