Perforated weapons rack storage locking cabinet

The base, itself, is home to a total of three prisons, which house military prisoners. Featured as a series installation involving the perforated weapons rack storage locking cabinet, units were to be used for military prison arms inventory accessed by military police who handled security for both facilities. This included ammunition, too. (See armory storage for more about the perforated weapons rack storage cabinets)

With access to the weapons rack storage locking cabinet, those authorized to handle the military prison arms inventory were given an easier way of accounting for what they had. Before delving into that, however, an explanation of how the weapons and ammunition were stored is necessary. Both were stored in the same vault, just in different cabinets to comply with federal policy. The perforated weapons rack locking cabinets housing the ammunition, however, was fitted with shelving to accommodate different weapon projectiles. This allowed for ammunition used with several weapons – including M4 M16, M240 bravos and M249 assault rifles – to be conveniently accessible for inventory purposes, yet still kept separate from corresponding firearms to meet government regulations.

Military prison arms inventory improved

military prison arms inventoryUsing the weapons rack locking cabinets also made accounting for inventory easier. The cabinets replaced old-style weapons racks, which had to be bound together by chains to ensure the safety and security of military prison arms inventory. The chains were then tied together using a keypad lock. It meant having to unchain each rack and physically retrieving the gun from storage to note the cereal number, even before a count of inventory could get underway. The perforated weapons rack storage locking cabinet, however, allowed for increased visibility without having to do any of that. Time was saved, labor costs were less and accounting for military prison arms inventory was more accurate as a result. In addition, the weapons rack locking cabinet, which included the use a padlock hasp to secure its doors, offered storage from both the top and bottom levels for 50 percent more capacity. This meant the facility could handle an increase in prisoners, if one was to materialize in the future. (See more images of the perforated weapons rack storage locking cabinet)
