Six museum gallery art racks available to fit user needs

The art racks include options that are carriage-mounted, ceiling-supported, floor-supported, lateral, modular pull-out, and wall-mounted. All provide users with an efficient way for storing and displaying framed canvas paintings and prints. Any of the systems can also be installed on top of existing floors or planned into new construction.

Wall-mounted museum gallery art racks are great at providing storage accommodation for works of a larger size. Notable features for this option include:

  • Virtually unlimited size; screen assemblies as big as 10′ x 65’ have been produced
  • Configurations featured with the punched screen are available in 1” increments and 6″ increments in woven wire

Floor-mounted lateral museum gallery art racks do well in situations where convenience and flexibility are needed to help maximize space while protecting hanging art. Its features and benefits include:

  • Standard sections are 5’ tall by 10’ long and can be stacked in 1, 2 or 3 sections
  • Available in 1” increments in punched screen; 6” increments in woven wire
  • Units can be as tall as 12’ with engineering review (oversize installations require overhead anti-tip stiffeners)
  • Maximum length for manual installations is 16′; applications up to 24′ require mechanical assist
  • Wheel sections can be nested for maximum density or non-nested
  • Roller guide-bearing wheel assemblies
  • Uses L-Rail, which results in a small gap on either side of the rail for hooks and rollers
  • All wheel sections come equipped with in-rail anti-tip
  • No accessories come standard
  • Optional accessories available, including handles, laminate end panels, shelf (with or without lip), textile brackets and trays
  • Must be double-sided

Space-saving carriage-mounted museum gallery art racks can be fit on mobile carriages and integrated into compact storage systems with other specialty storage units.

  • Available in 1” increments in punched screen; 6” increments in woven wire

  • Overhead unistrut provides stability and guidance
  • Center-flange rail allows for smooth floor (no gap between rail and flooring)
  • Optional B-rail dual-flange guidance
  • Must be double-sided

Ceiling-suspended, pullout museum gallery art racks are ideally used when you need to safely store, access, organize, and protect framed art and cultural artifacts. A single polyurethane tracking wheel at the leading edge of each racking unit provides guidance, eliminating the need for rails. System features and benefits include:

  • Available in 1” increments in punched screen;6” increments in woven wire
  • Overhead aluminum track; two sides of room can share track
  • Handle is required and included in quote
  • Must be double-sided
  • No rails required
  • It is the responsibility of the client to consult with the architect and/or structural engineer about ensuring the ceiling’s capability of supporting loads imposed by the system

Modular pull-out museum gallery art racks are free-standing units, which can be installed without permanently being attached to ceilings, walls, or floors. Posts require anchoring to the floor to prevent frame movement, and the rails are anchored on top of the floor for guidance. Units are also accepting of additional museum gallery art racks when needing increased storage capacity to accommodate growing collections. System features and benefits include:

  • Maximum screen size 9’ high by 10’ long by 7′ wide; no maximum to overall system length
  • Maximum number of pull-out screens per modular frame is six
  • Available in 1” increments in punched screen; 6” increments in woven wire
