Using the Smart Cabinet is simple. RFID labels are affixed to the device or supplies, and a barcode is scanned to “enroll” the item into the RFID tracking software system. Once the item is tagged, it’s placed into the Smart Cabinet. Another RFID tag is attached to the nurse or technician to identify the user and unlock the cabinet (usually placed on their badge). When the Smart Cabinet is opened and a device or supply item is removed, the Smart Cabinet will automatically record which item was taken and who took it.
