It became apparent to a police headquarters that they had outgrown their 27,000 square foot facility and had inadequate store systems to support their police force. When a new police station was designed, they installed property and evidence storage lockers to help them gain efficiency as well as promote environmental responsibility by enhancing their storage space.

Since employees themselves were the headquarters' top priority, particular attention was paid to personal storage lockers. A locker room storage solution was designed in the form if 142 personal storage lockers that were specifically engineered with a variety of options and interchangeable features that allowed easy, exact customization. The lockers featured heavy-duty benches made from hardwood that also doubled as drawers that provided storage space as well as giving officers a place to sit. The uniform and personal wardrobe storage lockers for the Tactical Intervention Unit (TIU) were also given an upgrade with 23 large lockers constructed of heavy-duty four-post metal shelving that essentially served as large cubbies for team members. This storage solution kept gear readily accessible and organized so the TIU team members could always be ready and move at a moment's notice. Also included in the TIU lockers were electrical outlets and heavy-duty garment hangers, which allowed officers to hang fully loaded tactical vests of 130 pounds each.

This readiness was also a concern for the patrol and community service officers since they bring their gear bags with them on each shift. Their storage solution involved lockers that were installed right outside the parking garage, allowing officers to quickly store and retrieve their gear bags as needed. Three-tiered lockers were also installed inside the parking garage for storing specialized tools and equipment for evidence collection.
Pass-through evidence lockers were installed into the wall that separates the evidence drop-off area from the property and evidence room and were designed to secure the chain of custody during critical short-term evidence storage periods. Long-term storage was also a significant concern since the old headquarters had run out of space. A mobile shelving system was designed in the new property and evidence room to eliminate wasted aisle space with movable aisles, doubling their storage capacity. Another mobile system was installed in the records storage area to maximize their storage space and improve organization.
In addition to all of this, the facility is entirely environmentally friendly with a small footprint. The building's efficiencies and sustainability measures even have the headquarters on track to receive LEED Gold Certification.
