High Density Compact Shelving Protects Collections From Sprinkler Water Damage
Protecting your collections from water damage in the event of a fire or accidental sprinkler discharge is a critical factor to consider for museums and archive facilities. Spacesaver® understands the potentially devastating hazards of water to stored collections, so they developed a watertight gasket system for their High Density Compact Shelving. These watertight gaskets can be added to any High Density Compact Shelving system to protect collections from sprinkler water damage. (view pictures of High Density Storage Shelving)
How the Gasket System Works to Create the Water Tight Seal
The watertight system works by attaching gaskets along the top and down both sides of all the shelving units. When the moving shelving units compact together, the gaskets compress together creating a watertight seal to protect your stored files, books, binders, or other materials that reside on the shelves from water damage.
In addition to our watertight gasket system, our electric push button High Density Compact Shelving can be programmed to your building's fire alarm system so that if fire alarm is set off all the shelving units will automatically close together engaging the gaskets and minimizing the possibility of water damaged to your stored materials.
