OSHA compliant cross over walkways
Industrial equipment cross overs are safe walkways to navigate around conveyors and pipes, machinery, duct work, and other obstacles that impede workers. The cross over units are OSHA compliant and can be ordered standard or in customized configurations to fit your specific access and safety needs for your application.
types of standard cross over configurations
There are multiple types of configurations available to fit your specific needs:
Cross overs with ladders are ideal for when your access space is limited, such as rooftops and parapets. The unit takes up a small amount of floor space and still allows workers to travel over obstacles like conveyors, mechanical equipment, and pipe runs. Handrails and treads on ladder rungs prevent injury from falls.
Modular cross overs are lightweight to allow flexibility for reconfiguring the units at any time while still allowing complete access over obstacles. The units simply bolt together from basic components to create work platforms, access areas, and production crossover walkways.
U-shaped cross overs are able to save floor space while still providing stair access. They are constructed from strong steel materials with a 45-degree stair angle to provide access over conveyors, pipes, and other obstacles.
Welded cross overs have heavy-duty welded tubular steel construction with a 45-degree stair angle and 9" rise, allowing you to regain access without moving any of your existing equipment or obstructions.
Many configurations and accessories are available for the cross overs. Standard straight, U-shaped, and cross overs with ladders are generally constructed from welded steel for durability. Modular cross overs are generally constructed of lighter materials, such as aluminum, to make them easy to move and reconfigure. Welded steel materials are extremely durable and have high weight capacities, but are difficult to move once installed due to their one piece construction. Some welded cross overs may arrive in two or three pieces for shipping, and can be broken back down for relocating. The modular cross overs don't have the same high weight capacity, but they can be taken apart and moved with much more ease. All configurations have their advantages depending on your application, and we will be happy to help you decide which type of equipment cross over is right for you.
