Effective January E-Filing is Mandatory for Certain Texas Courts

Mandatory e-filing in civil cases throughout district courts, statutory county courts, constitutional county courts and statutory probate courts is being implemented beginning January 1, 2014 to July 1, 2016 (see Docket #12-9208 mandatory e-filing deadlines by county).

Harris County Takes the Lead in Converting to Electronic Filing

While Mr. Daniel has a clear vision for Harris County, many other county courts may be hesitant regarding how they will move forward with the e-filing mandate. Rumor has it some counties are planning on receiving documents electronically and then printing them and placing the documents in the paper files, defeating the intent of Docket #12-9208 mandate.
