Ventilated Mobile Storage Systems Stores vaccines
The biopharmaceutical industry is expected to grow rapidly in the United States, driven by shifts in production technology as well as targeting diseases such as cancer and diabetes. It's important for healthcare's storage solutions to be able to keep up with this growth. Ventilated mobile storage systems are a safe and effective way to store vaccines and medicines in healthcare while keeping them secure and accessible. ventilated storage systems for maximum safety
With this rapid growth and as more high-priced, large-molecule medicines are developed, many drug producers are adding biopharmaceutical manufacturing plants around the world. Where there aren't plans for expansion, many companies are renovating storerooms with the goal of increased storage capacity. Capacity constraints are one of the biggest challenges for this market; 6 out of 10 bio manufacturers face at least some type of storage issue at some stage of the manufacturing process. The centralization of chemicals, compounds, and samples being worked with daily is a priority, and this type of storage has very specific requirements that include the need for ventilation. One drug manufacturer was in the process of building out new lab space due to a recent expansion that included a renovated storeroom.
The storeroom used a Spacesaver® 4-post mechanical-assist mobile shelving unit with modifications that allowed HVAC integration to improve ventilation. The system was designed for the manufacturer's specifications with chemically-resistant wire shelves that had special Teflon powder coats, clear-hinged doors, and additional airflow created by inserting a vent into the 8" base of the shelving.
The manufacturer needed a solution that was airtight and worked less like shelving and more like a cabinet. Therefore, the seams of the 4-post unit were sealed with silicone caulk, with openings cut in the canopy tops. Bottom vents were installed for the HVAC. Clear-hinged doors allow for the necessary inspection of the system's contents for sample monitoring, and custom polyurethane trays that are sized to fit the shelves exactly were created to better organize the chemicals. The whole system was custom-designed and engineered to fit their exact needs.
