modular casework stations at the government medical research laboratoryA Veteran’s Affairs medical research laboratory needed their state-of-the-art machinery and healthcare technology be integrated with a new furniture and cabinet system. The laboratory chose to use modular casework stations throughout the facility instead of traditional built-in millwork for the project. Click here to learn more about modular casework.

Modular Casework Stations are a Flexible and Durable Solution

Besides the fact that modular casework can be reconfigured and relocated without costly construction, the lab selected casework because it provided a mixture of both durable and aesthetically pleasing configurations that satisfied their work environment needs. Available on Vizient GPO Contract #CE2900 (Vizient customers call for contract pricing.

As with most government facilities, space was limited. To optimize the minimal lab space, a specially designed modular casework station solutions were installed. Features of the Specially Designed Modular Casework Stations

The stainless steel ensures that the stations will be easy to clean and won’t be damaged by hazardous materials. The surfaces applied to the modular casework stations are also made of a chemical resistant material for extra resilience.

Another added feature was the design of both standing and sitting height work surfaces within the same modular casework station.

The incorporation of gas lines, data lines, and electrical wiring components supported the multifunctional use of each the modular casework stations. The most innovative feature of this design was the non-conventional use of wire drawer pulls as shelf lips that provided organization and safety of overhead lab materials. Due to the nature of the work and the limited interior space, the modular casework stations were able to satisfy all aspects of the lab’s workflow optimization needs.
