To access stored materials within the cabinet, the user must complete three necessary steps: identify, choose, and receive. The user is first identified through one of a combination of fingerprint, proximity card, or username and password. Then the user chooses an item from a list that appears on the touchscreen LED monitor. A user can only take the items that they are authorized for. When an authorized item is selected, the user opens the drawer indicated by the flashing light. When the drawer is opened, the individual compartment that the item is located in will pop up.
