We provide numerous different types of Laboratory Fume Hoods that work as air filtration and fume extraction systems for labs. There are two main factors to consider when selecting a style of Laboratory Fume Hood: the type of work that it will be used for and the air consumption of the hood. We have many types of Laboratory Fume Hoods for you to consider, including Bypass Laboratory Fume Hoods, Add Air Laboratory Fume Hoods, Variable Air Volume Laboratory Fume Hoods, and ADA Compliant Laboratory Fume Hoods for labs in Seattle, Spokane, Tacoma, Bellevue, Everett, Kent, Yakima, and Renton.

Laboratory Fume Hoods Construction Features

Construction of fume hoods begins with a heavy duty internal framework. This universal framework is the foundation for a variety of standard and optional features, including:

  • Chemical resistant interiors of resin-chem, PVC, or stainless steel
  • PVC or stainless sash guides
  • Vertical, horizontal, or combination sashes in a variety of materials
  • Easy access for service fixture installation
  • Manual or remote baffle adjustment
  • Fluorescent light fixture

The design flexibility of our air filtration fume extraction systems will allow you to select standard options that will meet the requirements for your specific application. Fume Hood Checklist.

Bypass Laboratory Fume Hoods

If you decide that the amount of air being supplied to the room is adequate to accommodate the exhaust volume of the fume hood, then the Bypass Laboratory Fume Hood would make an excellent choice. The Bypass Laboratory Fume Hoods have a double bypass to provide constant exhaust volume and limit changes in face velocity. The upper bypass functions automatically with the raising and lowering of the sash window. The lower bypass provides a continuous air sweep of the work surface. Add Air Laboratory Fume Hoods

If there is not enough air supply available for air filtration and fume extraction, the Add Air Laboratory Fume Hood may be the right choice for your lab. The Add Air Laboratory Fume Hoods provide up to 70% of the hood exhaust requirements. With a bypass similar to the Bypass Laboratory Fume Hoods, outside air is introduced through the add air plenum, which minimizes the amount of conditioned room air required. Variable Air Volume Laboratory Fume Hoods

The Variable Air Volume Laboratory Fume Hood is designed to be used with an adjustable damper system in the duct work. The use of this hood will drastically reduce the total amount of air consumed when used in conjunction with a VAV control system, which makes it a good choice when trying to reduce air consumption for energy cost savings. In lieu of an upper bypass, the Variable Air Volume Laboratory Fume Hood has a lintel that restricts the air intake of the hood to the sash opening and lower bypass. ADA Compliant Lab Fume Hoods

The ADA Compliant Lab Fume Hoods are designed to meet the unique needs of wheelchair operators. These fume hoods deliver all the features and capabilities of the standard fume hoods with special accommodations built in to meet the specific requirements needed to provide a safe and comfortable work site for wheelchair operators.
