Storing Museum Collections with Compact Storage Racks
The Naval Undersea Museum was running out of space; everything was filled to capacity. The museum needed a way to expand their storage area without expanding their building space. In addition, museum quality storage products were needed in order to preserve and protect the many artifacts stored in the facility. Compact Storage Racks Increase Capacity for Museum Collections
The first Compact Storage Rack system is used to store their large collection of films and books. The second system was equipped to store everything from rare diving equipment to sonic buoys. Finally, a third Compact Storage Rack system was designed specifically for storing hanging artwork.
The Compact Storage Racks provide a more efficient way to store all their collections, compared to typical static shelving. By storing their museum collections in Compact Storage Racks, idle aisles were eliminated and replaced with moving aisles to free up more storage space. In addition, the moving access aisles are much larger than the static aisles previously used, which provided additional space for the forklift to maneuver.
