Use Innovative Hospital Bed Stackers in Facility Engineering Departments
Space is at a premium in many hospitals, especially for non-clinical areas such as facility engineering departments. At one hospital the problem faced by the facility operations manager was finding the space he needed for efficient bed storage to make repairs during the high patient-census winter months. The innovative answer to his problem was efficient bed storage using Hospital Bed Stackers.

Hospital Engineering Department’s Problem Storing Broken Beds
Any time more than 6 to 8 beds were in the 22' by 32' room for repairing hospital beds, it got extremely cramped. Beds couldn’t be placed in the halls because of hallway code violations. And moving the broken beds around the repair room was difficult and time consuming. In fact, the area was so cramped that one person was injured while lying on the floor trying to repair a broken bed.
The facility operations manager tried numerous different ways to store the beds, and came to the conclusion that stacking them would be the best because it would free up floor space. That’s when he found the Hospital Bed Stacker.
How the Hospital Bed Stackers Transformed the Facility Engineering Department's Bed Storage
Five Hospital Bed Stackers were used with the exact features to fit the hospital’s requirements. The stacking units will store 15 beds neatly (3 high and 5 across) in the same room where there was barely enough fit 6 beds. The bed stackers are located along the back wall which allows space in the room to be used for engineers to work on beds.
The new storage system has reduced turnaround time on each bed repair by 25 minutes because engineers are no longer spending time moving the beds. Productivity has increased as well from repairing 6 to 7 beds in a shift to repairing 11 to 12 beds.
